History of hip hop music

The history of hip-hop music (hip-hop music), or the history of rap, which existed from the early 1970s, appeared in the music scene in the latter half of the 1970s and continues to this day. Hip-hop is said to have four elements (DJ, breakdance, graffiti, rap). Scratches may be added to these four elements. Hip-hop was born in New York and spread throughout the world.

Details

There are various theories about its origin, but it was generally born in the 1970s, Kool Her (inventor of breakbeats), Grandmaster Flash (spreading scratch technology), African bemata (called hip hop). With the success of DJs such as the creator of words, it has begun to spread as music that goes beyond the block parties up until then.

Styles such as tunes, dance and fashion are called Old School (late 1970s-early 1980s) and New School (New School, after 1990s), respectively.  Late 1980s-Early 1990s was the heyday of rap, so it’s sometimes called Golden Age Hip-Hop. In Japan in the mid-80s wrap Middle School may be expressed as (Middle School). Middle school rappers included Run-DMC, LL Cool J, UTFO, and Houdini.

The advent of music videos has changed entertainment. They often praised the urban neighborhood. DMC-Run, as well as Ice T, Big Daddy Kane, was also a favorite doctor-drain et al gold chain of accessories and, jerseys and sneakers such as was seen. After that, Public Enemy and KRS1 Boogie Down Production appeared.

The New School Rap was popular from the late 80’s to the early 90’s. New school rappers included De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and Leaders of the New School. As for fashion, silver was popular.

Another categorization is the East Coast Sound on the east coast of the United States such as New York, the birthplace of hip-hop, and the West Coast Sound (West Side) on the west coast of the United States such as Los Angeles. There are ways to divide by region. Early East Coast sounds often use jazz tracks, while early West Coast sounds are tracks called G-funk, which sample P-funk and incorporate electronic sounds such as synthesizers. In addition, gangster raps, who are from gangs, often put on raps with their lifestyle as lyrics. South tracks feature bounce beats. Due to the popularity of hip-hop, regional classification has become less meaningful, with some gangster rap raps appearing on the east coast.

Features of HIP HOP (What are the four elements)

What are the four elements of HIP HOP?

  • Wrap
  • Break dance
  • DJ play
  • Graffiti
  • It has become.

A typical one is “wrap”.

“Rap” is a “singing method” characterized by a slightly flat pitch, liming, using words reminiscent of street culture, affirming the use of cannabis, and denying homosexuality.

“Breakdance” is a type of “dance” that combines flashy movements such as handstands, jumps, and open legs.

“Graffiti” is also called graffiti art.

Have you ever seen weird graffiti drawn with a spray can on a concrete wall in an unpopular place?

That is a kind of art called “graffiti”.

“DJ play” refers to mastering a machine called a turntable that plays HIP HOP music (beats).

These four are collectively called “HIP HOP”.

Also, in recent years, I think that the five major elements are HIP HOP, including “B-BOY fashion” in these four.
